Birmingham Community Matters (BCM)
We help people to start, run and grow small community and voluntary groups in Birmingham.
Our peer learning network brings you together with people who have lots of experience, so you can ask questions and share ideas.
Our mission
BCM boosts the development of small voluntary and community groups in and around Birmingham. Our peer learning network inspires people into action and gives them spaces to share, as equals, their skills, knowledge and experience.

Your group
Whether you have the spark of an idea or an established community group, BCM can help you with your next steps.

Our events
BCM holds online and in-person sessions where you can ask questions and overcome challenges relating to your group.

Resources
BCM has support and ideas for every stage of starting, running and growing your voluntary group in Brum.
Current projects
BCM is an independent charity, our main services made possible with kind support from the National Lottery’s Reaching Communities fund. We have also been funded by Birmingham City Council to support and enhance various community programmes across the city. This work includes holding knowledge sessions, creating resources, and boosting the skills of Birmingham’s small community groups. We’re working on a number of projects across the city.
